Tomorrow, October 29, 2009, Canonical Software will release Ubuntu 9.10 – the most recent release of a widely-popular Linux distribution. Watch the following Google Docs presentation to learn why Ubuntu Linux may be a great alternative to a Microsoft Windows (R) 7 upgrade for the small to mid-range business.

Hey there!
Windows XP is a relatively stable, predictable, low-risk choice. I feel that Vista’s latest incarnation (Windows 7) isn’t a bad choice and you’ll probably be satisfied with it.
However, if you got to a point where you’d want to look at an alternative, I’d recommend Ubuntu. You can download it and – if you know how – create a bootable CD ROM from the distribution, and just try it on your computer without affecting Windows.
More information on downloading Ubuntu and burning a CD image can be found here:

Best wishes -

I just bought a Dell Studio 5 that came with the option of Windows
Vista or Microsoft Windows 7 after reading your blogs today I am wondering now whether my choice to take the newer version was the better choice. My friend made a comment as well something like, “Oh that’s the system that still has the ‘bugs’ in it”. It seems something like this happens to me every year! What do you suggest so I can continue having a smooth operating system that within (1) year I do not have to make another upgrade?
