Quickbooks 2005 Update Forces IE6 Announcement

I recently downloaded a QuickBooks 2005 update and encountered the following announcement message on entry:

QuickBooks practically demands the use of IE6 by asking you to uninstall IE7. You can skip the message and continue to use QuickBooks by selecting “Remind Me Later”, but this announcement creates a support distinction for Intuit. If you’re running IE7, your use of QuickBooks is unsupported. If anything, it’s really annoying.

Intuit had all of the time during the IE7 beta – just like everybody else – to make QuickBooks 2005 compatable but they obviously chose not to; I’d wonder if even the new release of QuickBooks 2007 was compatable – I’m not sure that limiting their customer’s options and diminishing their Internet security by forcing them to uninstall IE7 is a real answer.

Pretty cheesy on behalf of such a large ISV.
