Secondly, Google seems to believe that releasing a feature by name without capability is somehow indicative of progress.

Take their recent branded pages where companies set up a presence on Plus. They push this feature out and it’s no different from a human profile; logos must be cropped; no integration to Places or Sites; no Analytics integration; no Google coupon integration; no Docs integration for creating surveys …

It’s like: Google forgets who it is. It rushes to release a product to emulate a competitor, and completely omits the features that could make it awesome. Its barely passable. Google wants to be taken seriously yet there doesn’t seem to be an inquisitive nature in its design … It purely wants to emulate, not inspire or innovate, and that’ll be what kills this product … Google’s inability to wait, design, integrate, and out innovate its competitors.

Google fails to astound anymore.

And that’s a shame. It’s what they do best.
